Artist's Comments

Here's another one of the 180 themes challenge :w00t:

This one was so much fun to ink. I went all out on the coloring. I like the sparkles :D. I found a good technique for doing the leaves on the tree. I think this one is the best out of all the digital pics I've done.
Anyway, this one was inspired, sort of, by a friend at school who, check this, is named Melody! Talk about freaky. Besides that, this friend of mine is into playing music too. Now she plays the cello not a harp, but I thought a harp would be less complex.
Note: my friend doesn't look anything like this girl, but still she did inspire me to a piont.

With that out of the way, please give me comments, concerns, or constructive critisism.

It's really pretty! I love how you drew the girl and her harp (how do you draw folds?) I wonder what program you used to color it. :)

This is so stunningly beautiful, all the colors within this picture complement each other perfectly and I love how everything flows smoothly on the wind.

Absolutely awesome, but curiosity compels me, what did you use to make the leaves?

Thank you :D I worked really hard on it, I was going to post it on Saturday but I didn't have enough time.
It's one of the effects brushes in Photoshop, go to the bottom of the list, click on the maple leaf shaped one and pick a dark green. After using that over whatever area you want leafed ;), lock the layer and pick the one either above or below it on the list, it is a wider leaf shape. It's best to pick a lighter shade of green, then go over the darker green, but make sure not to cover all the dark leaves. I think I'll make a tutorial on how to do it, cause it's hard to explain. ^^;

Yup, I mean the clothes. :D I can hardly draw anyone unless I practice them about 10 or more times. ^^' Lucky, I wish I had Photoshop! >.<

Wow, that'd be really great! ^^ I need a tutorial on everything since I'm still a beginner in drawing. I looked up over a hundred different tutorials on inking, coloring, hair, hands, feet, eyes, heads, and more!

Well, if I figure everything out I'll try to post some tutorials, but if that doesn't happen and you still can't find anything online I recommend you getting some drawing books. The one I think would be awesome for you if you want to draw humans better is Jessica Peffer's Fantasy Characters : How to Draw Fantastic Beings and Incredible Creatures. Here's the link. I bet you could find it anywhere. If you want to order it online try Amazon.com
It's a great book and it has had a very good influence on my art too. :D
